Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric?

there are really too many good lyrics but i would have to go with

"Far away across the fields,
the tolling of the iron bell,
calls the faithful to their knees,
hear the softly spoken magic spell."

It was just brilliant, or at least i thought so

Thumbs up Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric?

All that you touch and all that you see
all that you taste, all you feel
and all that you love and all that you hate
all you distrust, all you save
and all that you give and all that you deal
and all that you buy, beg, borrow or steal
and all you create and all you destroy
and all that you do and all that you say
and all that you eat and everyone you meet
and all that you slight and everyone you fight
and all that is now and all that is gone
and all that's to come and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon ......

Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric?

My favorite Dave lines is:
A man lies and dreams of green fields and rivers
but awakes to a morning with no reason for waking.

He's haunted by the memory of a lost paradise
in his youth or a dream, he can't be precise
he's chained forever to a world that's departed
It's not enough, It's not enough.

My fav Roger lines is:
Through the fish eyed lens of tear stained eyes
I can barely define the shape of this moment in time.

Floating down through the clouds
memories come rushing up to meet me now
in the space between the heavens
and in the corner of some foreign field
I had a dream.

Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric?

You say the hill's too steep to climb...
"Climb it."
You say you'd like to see me try...
Climbing...
You pick the place and I'll choose the time...
And I'll climb --- that hill in my own way...
Just wait awhile for the right day.
And as I rise above the tree line and the clouds,
I look down --- hearing the sounds of the things you've said today.

AND

Tired of lying in the sunshine...
Staying home to watch the rain.
And you are young and life is long...
And there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find...
Ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run...
You missed the starting gun.

And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun --- but it's sinking...
Racing around --- to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older...
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric?

oh god, there are so many pink floyd lines i love, but this is one particular verse i love:

and you run and you run
to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
racing around
to come up behind you again
the sun is the same in a relative way
but you're older
shorter of breath, one day, closer to death!
