Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric?

I think Time is a classic song too, especially when it was sung from the top of the spider.

Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric?

I think these lines are just brilliant:

Got the Bob Dylan blues
And the Bob Dylan Shoes
And my clothes and my hair's in a mess
But you know I just couldn't care less

Goin' to write me a song
Bout' what's right and what's wrong
Bout' god and my god and all that
Quiet while I make like a cat

Cause I'm a poet
Don't ya know it
And the wind, you can blow it
Cause I'm Mr. Dylan, the king
And I'm free as a bird on the wing

Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric?

"Hello, This is Brian Matthew in London, introducing another program in the best of the rocker series, classic vintage concerts, from the arcives of the BBC. And in this best of rocker, we have a concert for you from Pink Floyd. That's Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Rick Wright. The concert was recorded in London in 1971, just before the release of the Meddle album. And it was in fact the first public performance by Pink Floyd of some of the music from Meddle. But to open the set, Floyd played a new arrangement of Fat Old Sun from their earlier album Atom Heart Mother"

"was it love or was it the idea of being in love?" from One Slip and "The sun is the same in a realtive way but your older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death" from Time

Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric?

A lot of lines are awfully good but if I had to choose:

"...And what exactly is a joke?"

"Hanging on in quiet desperation, is the English way"

"Day after day, my love turns grey, like the skin of a dying man"

...among many others.

"All you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be" from Breathe. And I love how that phrase appears again at the beginning of Eclipse, as "all that you touch, all that you see (etc.)".
