Hehe.. they have a self published cd. It's only got two songs on it. One is like twenty some minutes. You can pm me about it, though. I have a copy of the cd that I burned from my friend. I'm supposed to see them this Friday. They have a couple e-mail addresses as well.

I don't think that anyone can knock off Floyd (except, of course, a cover band)
-Coldplay sound very remotly Floydish- slightly in their new album, you hear the "floating" feeling to it that Floyd has- but not much

Just to comment - haven't checked out "On" yet, but I listened to some of the "Queensryche" stuff - it's excellent! I can hear the Floyd influence/resemblance, and the music is just fantastic!

A true story.

"Operation Mindcrime" & the other earlier stuff especially. After DeGarmo left the band they've gone in a different direction.

You mean the band Yes, or Queensryche .
You will like Yes if you like Floyd.

I was referring to Queensryche; I had never heard of them, but I do know (and like) the band Yes.

There are some older bands worth mentioning here, one is
Tangerine Dream(experimental electronic music - like early Floyd)
+Kraftwerk(German band), & Camel.

i find the album 'yoshimi battle's the pink robot's from the flaming lip's to sound somewhat similar to pink floyd, infact more a cross between pink floyd and radiohead although from a vocal point of view something similar to neil young! the song 'yoshimi battle's the pink robot's part 1' has an identical baseline to something out of the 'dark side of the moon' not to mention bell's sounding in the background! (oh very floyd) also the song 'are you a hypnotist' pen's the word's 'the sun eclipse behind the cloud' awefully close to a floyd lyric but does sound great with wayne coyne's vocals! as well
much of the writing style deals with issue's similar to the dark side of the moon! i think it was rolling stone who considered yoshimi 'the best album ever' but i still believe in pink floyd the wall!

I've always felt that if Roger Waters and Robert Plant ever found a way to reproduce (a cross between Floyd and Zeppelin) that you'd get Queensryche. I have always enjoyed their Empire CD, kind of Floydesque with a harder edge.. (OK...I like Silent Lucidity).
