it's from a paly called a dream play. It's about the god Indra's daughter who comes down to earth to see why there is no joy on the planet.

Advocate: They will not accept enlightment. Oh if only our complaints could reach the gods in heaven!

Daughter: They shall. Do you know what i see in this mirror? The world set to rights. It is twisted out of true.


Advocte: How did it become so?

Daughter: When the copy was made.

Advoacte: Yes the copy. I always felt it was a false copy. And when i began to think of the prototype I realised it's inadequacy. People called it human instability, the glass splinter that satan sets in the human eye and so forth..

Daughter: Their vision is certainly distorted. Look at the university faculties!The government, in order to keep society stable, pays lip service to all four of them. Theology, the teaching of god, which is attacked and ridiculed by philosophy, which claims to be a wisdom itself! And Medicine, which challanges philosophy and says that theology is not a science but a sperstition. And they sit in the same senate which is supposed to teach the young respect - for the university! It's a madhouse. And alas for him who first sees the truth.

Advocate: The first to see it are the theologians. As part of their perliminary studies they read philosophy, which teaches them that theology is nonsesne. Then they read in their theologywhich teaches them that philosophy is nonesense. Madmen eh?

Daughter: And law the servant of all except the servants.

Advocate: Justice which, seeking to be just, slays itself. Right, that so often causes wrong.

Daughter: Thus you have arranged your world child of man.

I thoguht it sort of addressed the whole truth thing. We're all searching for it but only doing it the way we know how to.
