Actually I have. Quite easy. My friendthought I ripped it off from a rapper cuz he said it was too good.

Then, IMHO, you ought to cut an album and make it rich while it lasts...

Here's a thought : My friend thought that I was the living incarnation of Jimi Hendrix because I play sexy guitar.

Rap can be respectable poetry. But it is not respectable music. We had this same discussion in my music class and I have since then known that rap is not really music. I'm not trying to say it's bad, because quite a few lesser known rappers are true poets. Just not very musical. Before I was in this surprisingly inciteful class (for high school at least) I never would have said such things as I am now.

How are you defining music? According to all the definitions I've ever heard, rap qualifies.

How insightful can a class be if it instills in people's heads that a brand of music is less "respectable". I find that very strange indeed.

I never went to a single music class till now that ever asked me to think which kind of music was "respectable" and which was not.

By the by : 'Incite' can mean something else, I think
