Music

Well due to a. . .uh. . ."discussion" in one of my other posts, I decided to post this. How can you classify music? Is it not true that there are many levels of musicality. Can't something be better musicall than something else? Or is VannilaIce right up there with Mozart? Please show me the error of my ways, I thought that musicians who put effort into their work were much more musically talented then those that just use sampled sounds to make a simple repeating beat. Explain to me what you think.

You are seemingly stating the obvious, what point is it that you are trying to make?

Why couldn't you continue this discussion in your other thread about music?

What's so funny did you listen to yourself talk or something? That's enough to make anyone crack up. My sides are splitting!

Eh? How can one answer this question? Something better musically meaning?

I wouldn't say so but someone else could. it's always been my belief that such questions are subjective in nature. I for example Carnatic music but my brother swears by Vaneeshwarapalli! (Though both of them are almost like 'sons' of the same father)

How do you classify effort? For example :

If you say rock musicians are more talented than rappers, how? Do you think it's easy writing good rap? Try it please...

Have you tried drumming in a traditional Central African place (meaning using traditional instruments)?

I'm afraid such a question cannot be answered objectively... (at least by me).

It IS related, after all, and can go in the thread you started before this one.

Secondly, I would like to ask you to hold down your temper against GtM and others who may simply disagree with your opinions. Disagreeing with someone really isn't a reason to 'yell' at them.

Just as long as you go forwards, and I go backwards. I mean, somewhere we will meet.
