Help with editing a wav file

Ok, I'm trying to edit my Gilmour-In Concert mp3-wav(I have it both as mp3 and wav) but it's not working. I was using Easy Cd Creator 5 Platinum on my old pc which had Windows 98 and it worked wonderfully but on my new pc I have Windows XP and I cant even convert an mp3 with it unless I burn that mp3 to a cd first. I've got the patch for XP and EZCD Creator to work properly but it's still acting funny. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If so I need help b/c I'm tired of this mp3/wav being only ONE file!!!
Thanks to anyone who replies!

i'm not sure if i'm understanding exactly what you are trying to do but if you want to convert a .wav to an mp3 and vice versa music match jukebox can do that.

Well, here's my situation: I downloaded the dvd audio of Gilmour In Concert. But it's all one file. I'm trying to break it up into seperate tracks. Like I said, it was easy with Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum on my old pc with Windows 98. But on my new pc I've got Windows XP and that same option will not work. I've downloaded the patch for XP/EZCD compatabilty. I liked it alot b/c you could type in the exact times you wanted the track to start and stop. I've got one like "Glodwave" (thanks by the way floydian slip for the info!) but it's not as simple or "exact" as Easy CD Creator. So I was wondering if anyone knew what I'm doing wrong, or if there is one out there similar to the one on EZ CD Creator?
Thanks again!

I checked out Cool Edit Pro. WOW! Sounds sweet but the price tag is a little high. $250!! Ouch. Is there a trial version or anything?
