Ex Guns and Roses members play Floyd

This is something I got off another messageboard:

"Ex Guns and Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum have teamed up with Scott Weiland to record a cover of the Pink Floyd song "Money" for the new movie titled "The Italian Job", which stars Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton and Charlize Theron. The soundtrack is set to be released May 26th, 2003. It is unknown if the song is featured prominently in the film."

Floyd On!!!!!!

To be honest, I dig old GNR, but to hear Axl sing any Floyd would probably sound as good as finger nails across an old chalkboard. But it's cool Slash is involved. He was GNR.

Yes...I've often wondered what Slash would sound like doing the solo to something like Comfy Numb. Bit disappointed to hear they're doing Money actually...I don't really like that song.

Never liked Gn'R but as an LP slinger I must admit that Slash is really cool. Wish he would use his real name.

Saw Slash jamming with Bad Co playing Wishing Well last week. Great tone and great playing. Never seen Neil Shlong before as he is from some horrible American band but he was really good too even though he was playing a PRS.

Slash isn't in GNR any longer. He left in like mid-'95. The band is now Axl and whole pile of other dudes. Axl is the only original member left. There is keyboard player who has been there since 1990 as well!

The worst part of the original post is not the potential massacre of the Floyd radio red herring but the words 'remake, Italian Job and Whalberg' all in the same sentence.

What a terrible idea.

It's often hard to express, you know? There's a bucket out in the rain that has all your memories in it, but I'll take it in and dry it out, maybe put a Manimal decal in a clever place to make it attractive to others that have never met us (there are only a few these days) and then, when interest in our greying nostalgia reaches it's zenith, I shall withdraw the bucket from public view, retire it to the loft, where it can be warm and dry. Nobody will know it's contents, unless they happen to glance into it, sometime in the long distant future. I'll sell that house, once my original bandmembers are gone
