| My Daughters work My 12 Year old will be going to 7the grade next week. She wrote this yesterday..... I told her I'd write a tune for it...What do you think (I'm pretty proud of her myself) Don’t Don’t run away from your fear Don’t shed a tear You’ll be safe all right here Don’t cry my dear Don’t put your head up in the clouds Don’t have any doubts Just stay here and eat your mounds Don’t let anyone see you frown Don’t you ever run away Don’t go astray You’ll be here with me always Don’t wash away Don’t be pushed around Don’t ever let your guard down Sit right here by my gown Don’t try to not be profound Don’t run away from your fear Don’t shed a tear You’ll be safe all right here Don’t cry my dear. I particularly like the part about eating your Mounds....Sometimes you feel like a nut...Sometimes you don't.

| Re: My Daughters work Only 12??? (bet she listens to too much Floyd, hey? That's ALWAYS a good influence, IMO...) I bet you're proud; if my 12 year old cousins wrote like this, I'd be too!

| Re: My Daughters work For someone who was born in '91 and being only 12 she has excellent musical taste. She likes Floyd, Zeppelin, The Who, The Beatles, Dire Straits....and Loves Frank Zappa.

| Re: My Daughters work I'll say this much, when you love Pink Floyd, and you instill the gift of Floyd in your children, you are doing them lots of good. That's awesome Fulgy...Just reminds me of when I was a youngster jamming out.

| Re: My Daughters work I was grown up only on The Beatles, and I had to fend for myself to explore other, more complex tangents of music. Thanks to the Concert for New York (which I switched to to see Paul perform), I had discovered The Who, and soon after was brave enough to discover Pink Floyd. While Floyd can stir up creative thoughts in children, I think I'd wait until they come across the wall themselves if I ever had a kid. While the message is good, it's a little intense for young kids. And with Tree Full of Secrets, they can listen to the "radio friendly" version of Money without the wife getting worried! |

| Re: My Daughters work What? Too intense? I just find that hilarious since I've been singing along with ABITW since like the age of 6 maybe 7. What child isn't going to relate to "Hey Teacher...". Man, I couldn't see playing my kids The Beatles everyday just because the music and lyrics are less complex. No offense, The Beatles were also included in my childhood, I latched on to Floyd though, and this is the point I'm making. A young child cannot fully comprehend the meaning of the lyrics, they are relating to the music.

hear hear... jut cos you don't understand the lyrics doesn't mean you can't connect to the music. My dad for example, couldn't speak a word of English until about 7 yrs ago when we moved here, not a single word yet he loved bands like the Floyd and The Doors.. why? cos of the music.. cheers
