Oh yeah, I forgot Ireland. It's a lot like New Zealand in it's untouched wildness thing, almost primordial in places. Lovely place, lovely people.

Re: If you've ever travelled...

My fave place, though I haven't been far from the Midwest, would have to be St. Louis. I mean sure, nothing major compared to L.A. or somewhere, but to be honest, I thought the arch was pretty cool. Alot of stuff there to do as well.....Another favorite thing was the architecture,<i.e., the old churches>.It seemed alot of things where new, but those that had been there since around the time it was settled rocked too.

Some places I'd like to go would have to be L.A., New York City, Seattle, WA, Toronto, England, Mexico, and Spain. I guess Mexico and Spain mainly because my ancestors are from there and I guess it's "gettin' back to the roots" sort of thing. England always intrigued me too....

Sorry if this is long, just shootin' it....

I haven't travelled much - not nearly as much as I'd like, but I did have the opportunity to visit Rome a few years ago, all too briefly. I loved it and hope to return one day.

forgot to mention my dislikes. New York City. gave me the creeps. Was always expecting to be hit by a taxi, hit on by a Gay, or mugged.

Re: If you've ever travelled...

Haven't gone anywhere much internationally, but I've been to most of the States and I'd have to say that my favorite spots would be Olympic Nat'l Park in Washington and San Francisco in California. Over the summer I'm going back to my birthplace, which is San Diego, CA-- also a very nice place.

Everywhere that I've gone has its beauties and its blights. It's all relative, really.

I haven't been anywhere especially interesting, but I love Gatlinburg, Tennesee. Lovely weather. And I also liked Atlanta, Georgia. I would probably live there. And I also similarly dug Washington, D.C.

Ah yes, Gatlinburg was neat. Didn't much care for D.C., however. Too humid.

Simon: Yes, I hail from L.A. Compton, to be precise.

stratters: Las Vegas is a total sleaze pit, a vice-ridden hole of homage to all things cheap and tacky...IMO. :

Yes, but at least it's terribly hot and uncomfortable to boot.

Re: If you've ever travelled...

Not to offend anyone, but I'm with Byron and Simon about Las Vegas, "a wastebin pit of iniquity and inequity" was right my impression.

I was wondering, has anyone here ever been to Venice?, or Padua? (Except Mad Yannis of course)

I loved that 110 degree heat. But I know I'm in the minority there.

Which is exactly why God gave us air-conditioning.

Re: If you've ever travelled...

Besides, I have an emotional attachment to it. Me & Mrs. Stratman honeymooned there, and I also saw "The Big E" there.

Yes, that they are. And you and Mrs stratman are welcome to it (Just never put Simon, Hicks or me in charge of the place, else it's doomed). Share and enjoy.
