When 'DSOT' first came out - I thought it was great, the clarity of the recording blew me away everytime I heard it. It's so unfortunate there isn't an official live release from the Waters' period (X Ummaggumma). I find the songs weak from 'MLOR' that are on 'DSOT'. I just don't listen to it anymore.

I don't think he was. He was too busy mourning the death of his father.

Didn't his father die in some war?

But when the real Wall fell, Roger was there, in Berlin! 'The wall' is a masterpiece that anyone else wouldn't have made, except he with his suffering and sensitiveness. I love that OPERA!
