Well, I'm not really sure about the order they're in... All the albums mentioned here are great... Sorry to say I haven't got to check out the first albums of Pink Floyd, although I've heard some of the songs(and they're also great) But to the point: 1. Wish you were here - The music is pure work of genious, and is the best type of music to relax to. A little tribute to Syd Barrett; the man, the genious, who started it all... 2. Animals - I don't know, the melodies, the text, everything, is fascinating about this album. 3. The Wall - A great album, with a fascinating theme throughout it. A lot of great songs. Proves once again that Roger Waters is a great text-writer. 4. Dark side of the moon - Great theme, about life and all it's complications. Great melodies too... 5. Division Bell - Some great songs(High Hopes is FABULOUS!) Not sure if this is the "real" order of my taste, 'cause they're all great. Well, at least of them I've heard...

Wow...Got some time and my nerves are shot so here goes.... 1. Piper - got to give props to the muse...so sorry to hear about Syd 2. Meddle - Wildly creative and intense...I don't even mind Seamus 3. More - Cirrus Minor is so haunting!!! 4. Ummagumma - The Studio Album - Grantchester Meadows is better than Prozac to calm a worried mind 5. Tie - Saucerful and Atom Heart Mother - Set the Controls... Let There Be More Light ... what a journey!!! IF always make me feel like I'm falling... This was an unfair thread for me because the only two albums I dislike are The Wall and The Final Cut a little too deep a look into Rog's psyche for my taste...

Best five albums?? Okay, in this order: 1) Animals 2) The Wall 3) The Final Cut 4) Dark Side of the Moon 5) Amused To Death <---- Yeah, I know it's supposed to be Floyd only, but I'm sorry... ATD is better than a lot of Floyd material ![]() ..In my opinion Last edited by Tower Of Faith; 07-26-2003 at 02:39 PM.

I really don't see DSOTM's lyrics pessimistic as all. Only if you think that way... but they really are more like the truth, and hopeful.

OK, here I go: 1. Piper At The Gates of Dawn-Gotta love the classics 2. Meddle-you can tell why this was their breakthrough album. AHM was a good start, but Echoes finished off the 20 song medium 3. Dark Side of the Moon-pretty much any Floyd fan has gotta love this album, whether they say they do or not. 4. Animals-a great rock album that's even better live 5. Wish You Were Here-another classic must deep in any Floydian's heart. Once you've heard it, it gets stuck to you, like PB&J on the roof of your mouth. Shine On is the kicker of that album. It flows like flowing water. (2 lame similies in a row! woo hoo!) A rather common list, probably, but its the truth! Last edited by doctor_how; 08-09-2003 at 09:54 AM.

This is really quite difficult... but I'll give it my best shot. This really is only reflective of how I'm feeling right now, because it changes based upon my mood quite easily: 1. Dark Side of the Moon- it's the cliche answer, but it's their best work. No arguing. 2. The Wall- a little bit too much Waters here, but I still love the rockability of it. It's got the most rocking of any other Pink Floyd albums, and I totally dig it. 3. Meddle- Mellow, trippy, orgasmic. Great album. 4. Wish You Were Here- SOYCD is classic. The three middle tracks are major kick-ass, but they look miniscule in comparison to the real highlight of this album. Gilmours guitar work on part I is astounding. 5. Atom Heart Mother- this was a big shocker for me. Way better than I had expected it to be (because I caught wind of some negative vibes from lesser-pink floyd fans on other forums who weren't all into it). I love it to death. The title song is amazing. It's like the kind of song you'd want to hear at a funeral or something... that doesn't sound good, but I love it. The tree middle tracks are so sweet too. I love 'Fat old sun', and I would love 'Summer 68' SOOO much more (I love it a lot as it is) if it wasn't for that cheesy "How do you feel!?" chorus that breaks in and ruins the flow of things. That's my only gripe with this album.
