Thumbs up Top 5 Pink Floyd Albums

OK, I'm new here and yes, I know there was a "Best Pink Floyd Album" thread, but this is different. I'd like you to write 5 best Pink Floyd albums AND write the reasons why did you put them on your top 5 list. I would really like to know what are your favourite PF albums and ofcourse, WHY.

Here are my top 5 :

1. Wish you were here - I really like Dave's Guitar work and his and Roger's vocals. I think of this album as a very warm & sensitive (but sad) piece of music that may be one of the best albums ever. Dave rulez!
2. Piper at the gates of dawn - Oh, i didn't forget old Syd, I'm absolutely crazy about Astronomy Domine, Matilda mother & Scarecrow. Syd (also) rulez!
3)Dark side of the moon - Ok,ok here it is . Great music, impressive (pessimistic) lyrics and that crazy feeling of alienation.
4) Meddle - It was very difficult for me to choose between Meddle and DSOTM for no. 3. Bit DSOTM won. Still i really like Echoes & Fearless.
5) Division Bell \ Animals- I don't know, I just can't make a choice. I like Dogs and Pigs, but i also like Take it back and High hopes. I just cant make a pick.

That's it, I would like you to write your comments, please.

Thanx

I suspect we have a very similar thread somewhere on this site but, anyway, I have enough time to waste tonight, so here's my list.

- Dark Side Of The Moon. Needs no comment, methinks, heh?

- Wish You Were Here. Maybe even better than Dark Side. Maybe.

- Animals. Very brilliant. Last great album from the Seventies.

- The Division Bell. One of my favourites ever.

- Meddle. It deserves the place mostly for Echoes but it definitely makes my top 5.

Even though it has been done before, I'll add to it, because I am sure my opinions differ now than in the past.

In no order:

DSOTM--As my said, no explanation needed.

Animals-- Once I regarded this as the worst PF album, now I can't get enough of it. Rog's biting lyrics and wonderful guitar work. Rick and Nick add the perfect background atmosphere.

WYWH--Makes me sad, every single time

OBC--Pure magic, before they were the art-rock band.

TFC or ITAOT--TFC is, in my eyes wonderful (though not really PF) and ITAOT should have been the official release of The Wall.

I have a hard time following directions - so I will list only three favoured selections with brief commentary:
1. 'Wish You Were Here' - this is the album where the band was really working/writing together.
2. 'Meddle' - Echoes is the apex of everything the band did.
3. 'Piper @the Gates of Dawn' - this release was the blueprint for the creative works to follow.

1. Dark Side (excellent from start to end)
2. Animals (Dogs, Sheep, Pigs...another album full of great tunes)
3. Wish You Were Here (all songs really classics, weaker HAC, not as strongly interconnencted as DSOTM and Animals)
4. The Wall (CN, RLH, ITF, Don'T Leave Me Now, ABITW, strong concept but weaker music also), Meddle (Echoes, OOTD), Atom Heart Mother (title track, FOS, Summer 68) or The Final Cut (the last three tracks), Obscured by Clouds (great simple rock tunes), Division Bell (great HH, Wearing The Inside Out, Poles Apart, Marooned)

the fouth and fifth place depends on my mood
