I liked the movie best, until ITAOT came along.

I just listened to all 5 versions, back to back to back so I could refresh my memory.

1. Best -- ITAOT? Hands down. Great vocals & guitar work throughout.

2. The Album.. Very good, but somewhat sterile.

3. The movie version is notable because it has Roger singing with emotion we've not seen before nor since.

4. ITF? Live----Good, but strange as it seems, I like Dave better as "Mother".

5. Live in Berlin. A bad joke. A mishmash of 2nd rate singers, backed by an ACCORDIAN for God's sake!!

Wink Mother...

I think that the version on the film is amazing...and in second, I vote for the
album. I love the line, "Mother am I really dying" in the film. It adds effect and yes, Rog, he does sing with passion on the film. But, he skipped my favourite line, the "dying" line, in the album with, "Is it just a waste of time."
Which, I don't find as effective.

Oh...and for my two cents worth...the version on ITAOT is the best.

I agree that Dave as "Mother" sounds best...and the extended guitar solo Dave does on the live version is one of the best parts of ITAOT. Super cool.

I feel that the album version is just fantastic...the drumming on that track is so awesome, and the guitar solo makes me feel so alive. I like the ITAOT? version, but i don't find the solo quite as powerful as the studio one.

Just shut the hell up thorin, Im interested in people's interest in Pink Floyd, but you know what?
You are just here to get people pissed off, you are here for the wrong reasons dude.
In a lot of the posts that you made, you either criticize the person who started the thread or the way their thread is posted.
You may think you're joking, but you're killing the threads.
