Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd Story DVD

I've seen the DVD in shops recently, but I don't know whether I have to buy it. I've got the documentary as MPEG files on my computer and the DVD seems to have no extras over the TV version.

Is the DVD worth getting?

Re: Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd Story DVD

I got it recently when I was in Edinburgh. I've watched it a few times and I really enjoy it.

The extras are OK, but nothing great. A few versions of Syd's songs done acoustic which is quite nice.

Re: Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd Story DVD

I bought it couple of weeks ago, and I think it's really nice document about Syd. Especially if interested in him and the early Pink Floyd. Not so many extra features, just couple of interviews that's all. But I liked it really much myself, and I think it came out as a bit different version on VH1 some time ago...

Re: Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd Story DVD

see, thats what blows about america, no syd dvds! all we have is pompeii and the documentary on dsotm, which is great but not enough for guys like me. A dvd of "tonight lets all make love in london" and that bbc documentary would be nice.

Re: Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd Story DVD

i was slightly dissappointed in it, i've read the book by Mike Watkinson and Pete Anderson and the documentary just doesn't do it for me... it's a good one, but compared to what i got out of the book it's... i don't know... too little.

I've got it and it was interesting, not mind blowing but recommendable. It's a very sad DVD though

Re: Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd Story DVD

is there anywhere online where I can order this dvd? I got the "live in 1966-67" vhs tape, which I believe is the footage of the band from the london movie. I'm also planning on getting Syds first Trip dvd sometime, but I also want to get a good documentary somewhere.....I watched most of the vh1 Legends one, it was pretty good and I heard from somewhere that it was on tape but I dont know if its true or not.
