Re: harvest floyd cds

Harvest Pink Floyd CDs are RoIO (Records of Illegitimate Origin, a.k.a. "b**tlegs"). They are only to be distributed free of charge. Basically Harvest is a group of floydians who spend a lot of their time and money to master Pink Floyd rare/live material for others floydians to enjoy. So, the answer to your question whether they are worth money, they are, but I'd hate to see anyone selling them. If you enjoyed them, burn a few copies for free (or for the cost of the CD-Rs) for your friends, but don't sell them.

Re: harvest floyd cds

isn't that company called "harvested"? "harvest" is the label that there early vinyls were made by. like atom heart, obc, meddle and ummagumma. and syds best of 'wouldn't you miss me' was done by harvest. but i could be wrong about the name of that bootleg company, but i remember it being 'harvested'

Re: harvest floyd cds

I have an original DSOTM CD distributed by Harvest and it all seems pretty official to me. I never thought it was a bootleg. Infact, I'm certian it isn't.

Re: harvest floyd cds

My mistake. I was indeed speaking of Harvested, and not Harvest. I guess I need some extra sleep time than I've been getting lately.

Re: harvest floyd cds

Harvest is a European label of EMI records. Most of my albums are from this label including the Crazy Diamond Set Box. I don't think they're particularly rare. Let me know if they are.

Here's a link I found interesting:

Re: harvest floyd cds

Harvest vinyls aren't rare at all. The CDs aren't common, but are not that rare either.

never heard of it. what's that anyway?

BTW I've discovered a vinyl pressing of DSOTM from Guatemala in my local music antiquariate.

Re: harvest floyd cds

Something like the very first pressing of a DSOTM CD, and the spine is has a black border or something on it. It's worth a lot of money, I guess.

Re: harvest floyd cds

Actually, I made a mistake. That Harvest DSOTM CD you speak of (the first pressing of the album on the then-new format) is collectable, because it was the highest fidelity CD version of it that you could get until the re-release came out in 1994. That first CD pressing of The Wall, however, isn't a collectable because the mastering was shitty.
