Matrix Synchronicity

It's by no means spectacular, but it's interesting, if nothign else.
Fastforward The Matrix to the scene right after Neo takes the Red Pill, when everything gets really trippy and he wakes up. You're aiming for right as he touches the mirror, at 31 minutes and 23 seconds, plus or minus a second. start playing the movie and "Comfortably Numb" at the same time.

First of all, the mood and the theme of both match fairly nicely. The whole life/death/rebirth motifs go together well. And you can see characters appearing to sing the lines, most notably Morpheus saying 'Hello, is there anybody in there?" and "Is there anyone home?" Neo wakes up and looks around to "You would not understand; this is not how I am: I have become comfortably numb." The robot which inspects him "opens" to a musical trill, and brings it's eye to him with the second "I have become comfortably numb". And, depending on how you've synched it, the trapdoor may open under Neo to the "brink" sound effect right after "just a little pin prick", or he may fall through the tunnel with the scream from "There'll be no more AAAAHHHHH".

After Neo is rescued, as far as blatant synchonization goes, it's over, but the effect is strangely similar, at least to me, of the same scene in The Wall in which Pink dies, rips his skin off, and is reborn.

The whole thing breaks down about a minute before the end of the song, when Neo wakes up in his room.

Now, tell me that Waters didn't intend for that to happen!

Charlie

PS. incidentally, Weird Al's "The Rye Or the Kaiser" works oddly well for the lobby scene

Sadly, I don't think he is.

Unless by "taking the piss" you mean slightly retarded and whacked out on drugs.

Okay, Charlie, Roger Waters did NOT intend for that to happen. Happy now?

But seriously, thanks for the info and maybe when I rent the Matrix video again I'll try to synch it with CN. I probably won't, but hey, you never know, I might. Doubtful though.

You may have guessed that all this synchronicity talk is almost as unpopular here as the Pubic Enema...sorry, Publius Enigma hoax. Don't take any notice of them (us) and post to your heart's content.

I once heard that if you sync up The Wall movie(after the MGM lions 3rd roar), with The Wall cd they sync pretty good together to! Except for a few songs that are in the movie and not on the cd. Has anyone ever tried this? Let me know if this works!
The Matrix sync sounds a little interesting, but not worth the time and effort. By the way, what did you do to find this out? Do you sit and watch movies then think "Hey, I know a song that would sync perfectly with this movie!"? Who has the time for that?
But hey, to each their own.
