Re: Drug habits

Then you HAVE indeed taken drugs. Alcohol is a depressant and beer a mildly poisonous irritant, so don't come the raw prawn, matey.

Now, if any of us says we have taken other sorts of narcotics, what will you say?

Re: Drug habits

No, the Floyd is the only drug I've ever had!

Seriously, I have never been under the influence of ANYTHING--I even throw out painkillers as soon as I think I can get away with it! (That's what you get for being slightly-built...a dose that wouldn't be so bad for others can really make me dizzy.)

Re: Drug habits

Drinking is okay, as long as you don't make it a habit. It's good to get pissed once in a while. Drugs are just a burden IMO. I've never really done any. Show me that they'll make me live longer and I'll think about it.....Besides none of my heroes do drugs, well, not the ones that are still alive anyway!

Re: Drug habits

Never done and don't ever want to (BUT I'll admit, I've had this INSANE craze to try LSD. I just don't know why cuz it's supposed to give you the trip of all trips!!) If you refer to a recent post by me in the Section called "Floyd the druggie band" you'll know why! I do drink about once in two weeks to once a month (Only beer. I left hard booze cuz I felt that my tolerence was increasing at an alarming rate - 200ml neat and no kick or worse!). I've been on butts from when I was 12 yrs. But I've brought it down to only when I booze now. That to only one or two. Not more. I suppose it all started changing ever since I read Runaway Jury and did more research on that topic (Tobbacco and adictions etc.)

Re: Drug habits

can i just start by saying to every 1 that i have tried various narcotic substancies (including L.S.D) and i would like to say to anyone who is thinking of trying L.S.D to please take it with someone who has taken it before and who isnt taking it or any other drug at the same time as you. if you take it alone or with other people who are also taking it and you go for a "bad trip" the people around you can freak you out whereas if you take it with someone with experience they can "bring you down" or calm you down. this is all i wanted to say to any one thinking of taking L.S.D. because it can be a dangerous thing if not correctly used
also remember the four golden rules:
1.never smoke crack
2.never inject anything
3.if you cant afford it dont do it
and finally the most important rule always listen to the pink floyd and enjoy the music for what it is............pure genius!!!!!

Re: Drug habits

I've said before that I'm not a recent fan of Metallica, but one of their songs really has truth to it: "MASTER OF PUPPETS." The song, says the band (I read out of a magazine), is about drug use and how it basically turns you into a slave/puppet. (Note that the band was partial to alcohol, and also note I retract previous remarks about them.) The song was written in 1986 I believe, when they were popular (touring as a supporting act with Ozzy Osbourne), but not as popular as they are today. Here are the oh-so-true lyrics. Enjoy.

"Master of Puppets" by Metallica

End of passion play, crumbling away
I'm your source of self-destruction
Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear, Leading on your death's construction

(Chorus):
Taste me you will see
More is all you need
You're dedicated to
How I'm killing you
Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your master...master
Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing
Just call my name 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master, Master
Just call my name 'cause I'll hear you scream
(End of Chorus)

Needlework the way, never you betray
Life of death becoming clearer
Pain monopoly, ritual misery
Chop your breakfast on a mirror

(Chorus)

Master, master, Where's the dreams that I've been after?
Master, master, You promised only lies
Laughter, Laughter, All I hear and see is laughter
Laughter, laughter, laughing at my cries

Hell is worth all that, natural habitat
Just a rhyme without a reason
Neverending maze, drift on numbered days
Now your life is out of season.

(Chorus.)

Re: Drug habits

If you're referring to me because you're broken-hearted after seeing the fact that your metal heroes oppose drugs, I don't even attend a church. I'm Non-Denominational and there is not a Non-Denominational church within 80 miles, and frankly can't afford to drive that far twice a week.
