I am only Myself. Can you hear me?

I am welcoming myself to the machine. Yes, what an appropriate forum heading. I really must admit that I am quite impressed by the level of sophistication in this message board. Having only ever been exposed to three such boards, however, I am certainly not an expert.

Pink Floyd has been my favorite band since the first time I heard High Hopes, in early 1994. They have helped me deal with my sister's death, with three ghastly breakups, with meeting my soulmate, with college, and everything in between. I adore Gilmour's lyrics, and his musicianship, and I love the physical and intellectual response I get from listening to Waters for extended periods. I sum up their differences this way: Gilmour is the Life and Eternity side of the band, Waters is the Death, Accountability and Transcendence side of the band. The others fit into their various niches as needed...

Final Cut is magnificent. I love playing track 4 LOUD on the car stereo, singing along like some kind of medieval banshee... hahaha.. It's brilliant.

Momentary is also wonderful. Division Bell is my first love, but man, The Wall, Dark Side and Saucerful are right there, too. I really couldn't pick. Take them all or leave them all... no room for half-hearted, one-singer-only kind of fans in my book.... Every person has something so specific to say...

Loooooooovely.

Okay, that's it for me, I'm off to bed. Just a hello to get things started, not like I really need that.

always good to see another fan of the underrated 'Saucerful of Secrets'.
I view the different members of PF this way:
Nick is the bones
Rick is the flesh
David is the heart
Roger is the mind
Syd is the spirit

Re: I am only Myself. Can you hear me?

that's an interesting introduction, and indeed, for some people the band is worth a whole lot more than the music itself

welcome anyway

I did something to myself. Like entertainment, like music, like a daydream. There was nothing there and I saw something.

DO YOU PLAY BRIDGE?
