Heyla

Um...hi.
Geez, I just realized I was posting before even introducing myself (idiot!).
I'm the ruler of shyland, but if I must, then I must.
I named me 'Call', coz those are my initials.
I'm a Graphic Design student,
and I like to design and make my own avatars for every BBS I join or for my LiveJournal.
I do illustrations in my spare time (and to earn a couple of bucks, necessary to buy materials and build a decent CD collection), and I also study animation, whenever I can. I have a site for my art, nothing fancy though.
Erm...I'm fairly new to the Floyd, but I've been listening to their albums for a couple of years now.
I offically started with The Piper, which I understand is something not many do (most 'new' fans start with I dunno, DSOTM or The Wall, I guess. I dunno. But all the people I know who like the Floyd have never even heard of Syd -and he's my fave!!)
Then I listened to Wish you were here for a more recognizable Floyd.
Then I got DSOTM for my b-day, and I recently bought the Wall movie (mainly for the animated secuences)
I was wondering which should be my next album this month? I was thinking Saucerful, coz it's next after Piper, but I'm not sure, so if you've got input on this, lemme know.

And that's pretty much it.

Boring, isn't it?

Re: Heyla

Hello and welcome.

My personal opinion on what to buy is really only 2 choices: Animals or Obscured By Clouds.

Re: Heyla

Welcome, call.

Since you're a Syd/early Floyd fan, I would suggest "Relics", if you don't already have it.

Re: Heyla

Hi Call. welcome. Enjoy yourself here, we're all nutz, but don't let that stop ya... Read forum rules, use search, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I'd reccomend Animals. No Syd, but the lyrics are incredible and Gilmours guitar is exquisite..

Re: Heyla

Isn't about every other person on this board an art major?

Re: Heyla

Wow, thanks for your warm welcome!
Really? Art majors? Well, I sort of should've expected that...now I'll
be criticized...(no formal Art training...-__-)

I have listened to Relics, of course it's good Syd fun, but I'm
interested on getting something I haven't listened before, for
the time being (I'm saving those works I already know for when I
consider my collection 'finished')

So, Animals is the way to go, then? Hey, if you say it's good, then
I believe you!

Re: Heyla

I was saying me too to not being an art major.

Get Animals, then OBC.

Re: Heyla

Hee...

Well, I've been reading some OBC reviews (all kinds, as to get both sides of the story), and considering my small-ish allowance...that record better be good, or I'm gonna have to kill you in a slow painful way.
