double discs with 1:20:00+ music are okay. The musicians have space to jam a bit and the songs don't have to have cut down solos because of time. Double discs are also good for concert releases. My favourite double discs are The Beatles (The White Album), Lotus by Santana, In The Flesh by Roger, Is There Anybody Out There? by Pink Floyd and Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix. On the other hand, things like Ummagumma suck.

Single discs are good when they have 40:00+ music which was a standard lenght of an LP since the late 60s.

i think both are equally good, they both have different uses, obviously. personally, i dont think that needs to be judged. any fool should see that they are equal. no offence to you, but this wasnt a very good way to start a conversaion.

I like double albums better.

You get the full taste of the artists thoughts...and most time I think both disc's are good. I feel like all the PF double albums are good, and each CD is equally as good.
