Me, as I'll always be...

Hello everybody. I'm from the European country Norway, far up in the North.
I LOVE the music of Pink Floyd, and there's nothing more relaxing than listening to Wish you were here, Darkside of the moon or The Wall...
No group can even get CLOSE to Pink Floyd, in my opinion. My friends think I'm crazy(I'm 14 years old) because I like music from the 60's and 70's, but who cares, right? Pink Floyd rules!

Welcome Loke! I'm from the Czech republic. Norway is beautiful, I've been there last year. You're absolutely not crazy when you listen to music from 60s and 70s. That was the time when some of the best music was created. And Pink Floyd have always been in the front rank.

Re: Me, as I'll always be...

They mostly listen to Techno and trance... Garbage-music if you ask me. When I say Pink Floyd is real art-music, they say I'm just a liar, and that jeg probably don't have any fans in the whole world at all. They said that texts in songs doesn't have ANYTHING to do with how good they are either... Ehh, doesn't Pink Floyd have A LOT of fans worldwide?
And I have the Roger Waters: The Wall: Live in Berlin on dvd(region 2), and they actually said that that concert isn't as important and well known as I want to make it... Hello, it was a HISTORICAL CONCERT! After a historical event(the fall of the Berlin-wall of course).
Glad I don't like music like all of my friends... They say both the texts and melodies are stupid. Well, excuse me, but I think they have the world's best texts AND melodies...
Hail Pink Floyd!

Hail and hearty welcome, Loke. Good to hear you're keeping the Floyd fan flag flying up North.

You're absolutely right, this is a beautiful country. Love the nature here...
But in other ways, Norway isn't that a good place to live. If you import dvds or cds for more than approximately 24 US$, you have to pay DOUBLE that price! 24$ is TOO little! So it isn't easy when I collect dvds, and Pink Floyd-cds(Alright, I haven't got a large Pink Floyd-collection yet, in fact only Wish you were here 25th anniversary Edition...) Well, I can't afford much, since I'm only 14... But, rather than that, Norway's quite fine...

Don't worry about your collection. I also started like that when I was as young as you.

Re: Me, as I'll always be...

A vast tape collection doesn't mean a thing. That's not what the
music is about.Ive seen that alot on Dead tour...Elitism.People
who think because they have 90,000 hours they're the cats a**.
That's all ego, bud, because you gotta start somewhere.I intro-
duced a friend of mine to the shows 10 years ago and we were
in the parking lot havin' a blast. This young dead head starts talk-
ing to my buddy and offhandedly asked him how many shows he'd
been to.My buddy replied it was his first and this kid just made a
disgusted face and said "oh,I can't talk you".I became enraged
and grabbed the little s**t and lectured him for about 5 minutes
on the fact that he wasn't even born when those boys first took
the stage.
I'll tell you what Loke, you let me know when your Birthday is and
I will buy you 5 Floyd CD's of your choice and send them to you in
Norway...I mean it too, because you have no idea yet how import-
ant that music truly is.That music will help you to awaken spiritua-
lly and expand your consciousness.Have fun young one,you have
a wild ride ahead of you!!
