Question A New Pink Floyd?

Will there ever be a band with a similar sound, with as much talent and in depth writing?

And what do you think of some of the "wannabe" new bands like Radiohead and Tool.

I think they sound ok, but they are no Floyd.

I'd like to see a resurection of Floyd. A new "suragate" band. What do you guys/girls think?

Re: A New Pink Floyd?

Never.

Radiohead are far away from being like Pink Floyd, Tool are even farther. Other new bands will never sound like Pink Floyd, because there's simply too much computer things in the music that were not available in the late 60s/70s. Radiohead do just this. I don't think it's bad to use electronics (if you don't use it like in the 80s or if you don't use ONLY it), but that's just not Pink Floyd. Even their lastest album - Division Bell - how many computer created techno rhythm lines it had? Not a single one.

Re: A New Pink Floyd?

Yeah, it's really easy to write music on computer - once you understand the method.

Re: A New Pink Floyd?

It's similar to the idea that once typewriters came out, books started being shit because the typewriter did all the writing.
