Im not sure if this topic has been covered before and if so could someone direct me to it. My question is during his time with pink floyd and after has dave gilmour played anything but fender strat , telecaster, and Fender esquire electrics and ovation acoustic guitars?

Re: Dave gilmour Guitars

Hmmmm apparently our search feature isn't working at the moment, but this topic had been covered. Look in the "Music Related Babbling" and David Gilmour" forums.

I do know that on his "David Gilmour Live" DVD he plays his Gretch (I think it's a '59 vintage Jet, but I'm not sure), and I believe a Taylor acoustic. If you take a look at the "Dark Side of The Moon: DVD he uses a Gibsion Les Paul at one point.

He has quite the collection, and they all get used.

At Gilmour in concert he played a guitar that wasnt fender, tho i dont know what type. Fulghum knows for sure. Just wait, he will give you a bether answer. I dont know about that guitar he used in the making of dsotm. Maybe it was a fender, but i wasnt a strat, tele or nothing i have seen before. You know the black one, you can see it in the pompeii dvd...

Re: Dave gilmour Guitars

He played a gold-top Gibson Les Paul on the studio recording of 'ABITW, pt. II' and also played it live during The Wall shows.

Othet than that, he's been pretty faithful to the Fenders.

Here are a few pages from Richard Mahon's (Spare Bricks) archives about Gilmour's guitar usage.

Re: Dave gilmour Guitars

He's also used Gibson and Takamine acoustics. and the Blond finished "Telecaster" is acutally a revamped Esquire. the name of his two lap steel guitars escape me as well.
