Question I need more floyd. What do u Recomend?

I recently dicovered "Dark side of the moon" at my local music store for like $3 so I bought it because i had heard alot about how great the album was. Plus most of the music i listen to is greatly influneced by my dad and i remembered him talking about Pink Floyd. So i bought the album and fell in love with Pink Floyd, So i then bought "Echos". I eventually want to buy all their music but i dont have enough $ so i was woundering which albums would u recomend i Buy First. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would go for Wish You Were Here or Animals next.

You really can't go wrong with anything, but those two are good starting points.

Hello and welcome . you did well buying the Dark Side Of The Moon! For your next purchase, I'd recommend looking at pinkfloydfan.net discographies pages and searching for your favourite tracks off Echoes on normal albums (you know Echoes is a compilation) and then buying those albums. Or you may just try downloading mp3s from the net and then decide what do you like the most. If you think the Dark Side is some of the best music you'Ve ever heard (like the most of us think), then I'd recommend "Wish You Were Here" or "Animals" or "The Wall", which is a double. All those recordings followed Dark Side Of The Moon, with which Pink Floyd gained the worldwide fame and success back in 1973.

You'll find that fairjess lied to you. You can go wrong. Steer clear of Ummagumma and The Final Cut, and 90% of A Momentary Lapse of Reason. They're disillusioning.

I like Ummagumma. As well as AMLOR.

But I do apologize for failing to warn you about The Final Cut.

The dogs of war can't get it up

I've been around for this collegiate fate:
The dogs of war will matriculate.

I'm going to have to disagree with you both here. I think The Final Cut is very good.

So do I.

I would go onto Animals/WYWH/ITAOT (thats The Wall live)

Then head for OBC.

Fearlessly The Idiot faced the crowd.

Anyway, Obscured by Clouds or Meddle should ideally be your next purchase. Or Is there anybody out there: The Wall Live is pretty brilliant.

Cheers,

Mark

In order get:
Dark Side of the Moon (which you have)
The Wall
Wish You Were Here
Animlas (although you may have to listen to it 2 or 3 times before really liking it)
Piper at the Gates of Dawn
.....and Meddle could go anywhere in there
-From that, it dosen't matter in what order you get it in.
(Check out the Pulse video and the Wall movie, as well.)
