They just shouldn't shorten it, of course i've never heard any of the shortened versions so I couldn't say, I haven't heard any because of that very reason.

Come on, you're telling me you've not heard any of them? You haven't even heard PULSE or DSOT?

Well I guess I have heard some of them once or twice, but none of them were good enough to listen to more than once or twice

Echoes I thought to be terrible after I listened to the WYWH version. And the live versions I just took as were, with a grain of salt, since it's just part of their show.

I chose Echoes specifically because it's missing Part 9 which I don't enjoy, but I've never heard most of the other choices.

I agree with Byron for the most part.

I found the additional vocals on Rog's SOYCD annoying.

B-Side of Have A Cigar - only the synth drone? You're joking?
Promo Single - I've heard this, it's a different mix. The guitar is raw it sounds more like the live 1975 version.
Promo Sampler - trying to make it a 4minutes radio piece?
A Collection of Great Dance Songs - that would be the least annoying one for me, but I love Part 9 which is not here...
Live version on DSOT - better performance than PULSE but shorter.
Live version on PULSE - longer but worser performance than DSOT
Live version on In The Flesh - interesting new ending jam, but I prefer the complete version Roger played in 2002.
Echoes - this sucks.

And the first keyboard and guitar solos. It fades out before "syd's theme". There's your three-and-a-half-minutes hit single right there. At least they didn't screw around with the transitions or anything.

No, it's just taken from a bootleg of a bootleg of a bootleg vinyl EP. It's bound to sound a little more raw. But the mix is the same.

Nope. Trying to show off the best bits of the whole Shine On box set. A little under or a little over 5 minutes, depending on which version you have. I don't find this TOO offensive, but the fade-ins are a little abrupt.

I like where the edits are, but they were executed poorly. If ACOGDS had come out in the 90's they would have been able to do it much better digitally.

Maybe so... but that synth horn sound is TERRIBLE, almost unlistenable.

This is almost tolerable, but Dave's voice is wrecked.

Well it's not an edit then is it? I like the DVD version best, it's a great performance, and the visuals accompany it perfectly.

Agreed.

Thanks for additional info Botley. I must listen to my DSOT version. I've never noticed that the synth horn solo sounds strange there.

Do you like the raw sound of the promo single version copy?

Just realised that you forgot/had no space to add Dave's half-unplugged version from his DVD. I say this was the most shocking version I've heard. But I quite like it.

It wasn't really edited tho, just radically reworked.
