Ok, I realize that Rog is full of sarcasm in many of his songs, and "It's A Miracle" is part satire, but whats the deal with the line "They had sex in Pennsylvania"?

Do we have an international reputation of being frigid? I mean, ok, I don't get any, but obviously someone does, or their would be a vacuum of natives here.

No, really, that line disturbs me. And the Shakers do to have sex (where do more Shakers come from?), and they are originally from England, I believe.

No, actually the Pennsylvania Shakers are a celibate religious order. They have had an active missionary and evangelical movement to recriut new members since their inception.. Unfortuantely, they are dying off. Their views and beliefs do not work well with folks in modren society.. It seems the only people thay are manageing to convert are fairly antisocial but not quite to the point of moving to a compound in Montana and taking up arms..
