| Rockhg89's thoughts On the advice of many people at the "Just Your John Hancock" fourm, I've decided to start this thread. There is no real format to this thread, so feel free to talk about anything. First order of buiness: -What is up with the intro to "Wish You Were Here"? It's just people talking, but about what?? Please shed some light on this. -If Syd Barret never left Floyd, would "Dark Side of the Moon", "Animlas" or "The Wall" be written. We know "Wish You Were Here" woudn't have happened, since it's all about Syd, but would the Floyd we know be different had Gilmour never joined?? Thanks for paying attention to this. ![]()

| Re: Rockhg89's thoughts 1. It's supposed to sound like a radio, going through different frequencies, and then stopping on Gilmour's guitar. Hence, why it sounds all tinny and quiet - like it's on the radio. 2. I think the band would have broken up by the 1972 or thereabouts if Syd hadn't of left. He simply couldn't play live anymore, or write songs cohesively. |

| Re: Rockhg89's thoughts I agree with the Panda. Anyway, We know that "Shine on You Crazy Dimond" is in 2 parts on the CD, but in reality is brokken up into 9 parts. -My question is, at what points in the 2 songs do those parts come in?? For example, where does part 3 end and 4 begin?

| Re: Rockhg89's thoughts My cat and I are pretty close in age, he's around a year older than myself. We pretty much grew up together and I can't remember him ever not being there. We even have an antagonistic relationship as actual brothers do. For example, whenever he pisses me off I'll always wave my opposable thumbs in his face...he then proceeds to lay down on the floor in front of me and lick his non-existent testicles. |

| Re: Rockhg89's thoughts 1. It's from a movie from 1950 or '51. Watch "Wonder Boys". In the scene where Tobey Mcguire is watching TV, smoking pot, and drinking, and the guy on the TV throws his hat at a hanger, saying, "All influence is immoral...", that's the same movie. 2. Animals, etc. may have happened, though it is verry unlikely. Floyd would've sounded like Bike and Arnold lane for a lot longer, they probably would've stuck to the space psychadelia theme for a while longer. "What ifs" are almost impossible to answer, though. It is what it is, and that's good enough for me.

| Re: Rockhg89's thoughts Quote:
I'm preatty sure part four starts at "Remember when you were young...", but you'll have to check in the "Tabs" section, they have a tab with it all broken up.
