Well, once upon a time in the west they were the Lions. Those single handed sailors took their six blade knife down to the waterline and headed southbound again. They sent me a communique and said they were in the gallery of the wild west end. I aked them "Where do you think you going, there's no need to leave just because it never rains around here".

You and your friend were calling Elvis to come to my parties on the planet of New Orleans. But he was so far away he'd need some heavy fuel to get here in time.

I thought I saw Romeo and Juliet skateaway in the tunnel of love....alas it was just a ragpickers dream.

Hee! One of my fave songs (overall) is Sultans of Swing...

...anyone here remeber the Calling Elvis video, with the Thunderbirds? It was bloody good (and not only cause Thunderbirds is one of the best TV series ever, and the video had all new footage...)

Tell you what, I'll add the link to the site! Just in case anyone actually wants to look at it.

Dire Straits are great, I've bought every album they've released, all of Knopfler's solo work and I've got some bootleg recordings too. I think that the band is underrated.

Nice Fulghie

Yes Lost Soul, I think they are under-rated too. I think they had a great drummer in Pick Withers

They are the only band I can compare with Pink Floyd. More, I think they made the best rock song ever (Telegraph Road). Unfortunately Knopfler has decided not to go on working with his former mates because of the success stress.

They may be underrated but, at least here in Italy, they are still well known and in the 80s they were certainly the most famous rock band.

Yes, it probably isn't very smart saying this on a Pink Floyd fan site, but I actually like them more than Pink Floyd.

Too bad they ain't active anymore, but I hope they get back together again just one more time and go on a farewell tour, as I have never seen them live, because I'm too young. I was hoping to see Knopfler live on tour after the release of The Ragpicker's Dream, but he had a motorcycle accident and the tour was canceled.

Simon: I think Withers was a good drummer too, not as good as John Bonham, but still great. Too bad he left the group after Making Movies.

My guitar teacher really likes them. We played "Sultans of Swing" when he was showing me how to read music.
