Re: Dire Straits

I'd have to rank them right up there with Floyd as one of the best of all times.. Knopflers solo work as well.

Re: Dire Straits

Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler are very very good. I dig especially the first two albums and Brothers In Arms and Live at the BBC. From Knopfler's solo stuff, Local Hero soundtrack and Sailing To Philadelphia are my faves (What It Is, Silvertown Blues, lots of other songs).

Re: Dire Straits

That would only be a problem if I was planning on calling the Spankline. 1-800-SPANK!

Dire Straits are awesome. They are the first rock band I listened too.

Re: Dire Straits

I was into Dire Straits before I ever connected with Floyd.

Knopfler is one of my guitar heroes.

He'd have been in my town this weekend if he hadn't have been in the motorcycle accident.

I hope the reference to me was in relation to Dire Straits and not spanking.

Yes, some of Dire Straits / Knopfler's work is among my favourites list.

Some of their stuff is also a little ho-hum.
