DSOT or Pulse? Personally, I'd have to go with DSOT. I've just never been a fan of Pulse. I find it's a bit too bloated, the song selection isn't great, the live performance of Dark Side is very weak and you have to sit through a butchered, Rogerless, boring, 9 minute version of Comfortably Numb. And besides, the version of One Of These Days on DSOT is surprisingly well done.

In my opinion they are both excellent albums. I can't pick just one.

IMHO, the very essence of Dave's guitar playing manifests itself in these two versions. |

Heh, to each their one, but it's a great version IMO, possibly my favourite ever.

SOYCD sounds fine without Roger. I enjoy the ITF version better, but I agree both 88 and 95 versions of SOYCD are good. I just can't listen to Comfortably Numb without wanting to (and usually end up actually) turning it off, and plopping in ITF or The Wall Live for a better live version of CN.

I'm not trying to knock Dave's guitar playing either, by the way. Don't get me wrong about that. I just think a 5ish minute guitar solo doesn't quite suit CN.

I voted for DSoT. It was my first Floyd Album (vinyl) so I have an emotional attachment to it. I agree that half of PULSE is redundant. Although DSOTM is well done and a good listen, it doesn't add anything appreciably to the original work.

Not even the rockin' One of These Days on DSOT?! (Which is a strange comment for me, considering I'm very partial to Roger Waters, but Pratt does fine on the bass for that one).
