| Re: Re: ..... I suck at the guitar, but working on it. It isnt that hard to play those solos, it dosnt go any quick at all. And page does play much quicker. I have 2 dvds, and the guy is awsome at the guitar, but he lacks the passion in his solos. Its hard to learn it, but it aint any hard if you practice it some weeks, maybe if someone shows you it. |

| I think that Delicate Sound of Thunder is a perfect live album. The sound is 100% professional, the mixing couldn't be better in the studio, and if you want a really kick ass solo by Mr. Gilmour pay a bit attention to "Yet Another Movie". But still "there is no Waters input" complaints... |

You get a medal cos you figured out I'm a guy. Well done. Laplacesucks, there are always going to be complaints about post-Waters material because his absence, it happens to the best of them (post-DLR Van Halen springs to mind).

| Re: DSOT or Pulse? Here's the way I see it: DSoT atually had a PURPOSE--to prove that Floyd had survived the loss of Roger, and to give full glory to their live talents (Ummagumma had done so too, but that was before PF became a stadium-filling attraction). I think DSOT also showed that, despite Roger's dislike for the bigger live shows, Pink Floyd was still an effective group even in that kind of environment. PULSE however was, to me, notable only for the TDB tracks and the live performance of DSotM (and the DSotM performance was marred by all the fan cheering and singing...I know that's what fans do at concerts, but it seems out of place with the Dark Side of the Moon to me). Bottom line, I think PULSE was kind of uninspired (despite some great recording techniques, minus the fans in DSotM). So, I side with Delicate Sound. |

| in addition to that... ...strickly speaking when comparing DSOT to Pulse, I think that Pulse sounds very very very flat... Delicate Sound Of Thunder is what it is named after... Besides there are many underrated songs included in DSOT from MLOR. One possible flaw of it (because nothing is flawless) is that it lacks this "band" feeling. Nevertheless, it is one of the most professional albums I've ever heard. |

| Re: DSOT or Pulse? I believe watersisgod893 said a few pages back something like the albums MLOR and Division Bell are pretty much of equal calibre in their own right, but the DSOT versions of the MLOR songs are better than the Pulse versions of the Division Bell songs. Couldn't agree more.

| Re: DSOT or Pulse? Can't say I totally agree. Some are yes, but not all. The Pulse version of Learning to Fly is way better than the DSoT version. Plus, I don't think anyone could flaw the performances of High Hopes and Coming Back to Life, or Keep Talking for that matter, whic is a personal favourite.

I couldnt agree more, but i am very much a pulse guy. One of these days(from video) also sounded greater in my opinion. Plus, with solo's like the one in comfy numb, coming back to life, high hopes, the sorrow solo, i also loved the time solo on the vid. I think Gilmour was really at his best on the guitar with that tour, overall i just prefer pulse. Kris |

| Re: DSOT or Pulse? Having seen both tours, I'd have to disagree. I thought the band sounded much better during the AMLOR tour. By TDB, they seemed a bit like they were going through the motions. Not as energetic and I think it shows in their sound. Although I really like DSotM played all the way through, Time just doesn't have the same kick as it does on DSoT. Even ACYL and BD, which are two of my absolute favs, are a bit dull on Pulse. I've discussed it a few times before, I think the DSoT versions of CN and SOYCD are much better on DSoT. On Pulse, I prefer Learning to Fly and Run Like Hell. Of course, these are only the opinions of one of the elderly... ![]()
