Re: The Simpsons Thread

Other than the really old ones, were there any episodes that were actually bad?

Lennon died long before the Simpsons premiered. Harrison was in the barbershop quartet episode.

Re: The Simpsons Thread

I'd have to say that the episodes in the mid point of the series itself as a whole were some of the best. Some of the latest ones that I've seen have been dealing with issues that shows like Full House would be dealing with. So I say the stuff that's in the middle is the best.

Re: The Simpsons Thread

Yes, but the older ones are still good. The new ones are poor imitations of the old ones with exaggerated cartoonish versions of the characters.

Re: The Simpsons Thread

The best seasons are definitely 4-8. 3 is good too.

Re: The Simpsons Thread

The old ones are classic, I'll give them that. But for animation quality and genreal entertainment value, I still say the stuff in the middle is the best stuff.

Re: The Simpsons Thread

The best episode is the Soulmate one.

"Hey, is that dad?"
"Either that or Batman's really let himself go."

Yes, but I thought somebody other would make Lennon's voice. Thanks for the answer.

I think Ringo was in one when Marge talks about how much she loved him and painted his portrait and whatnot. I think he replies to a letter of hers.

Re: The Simpsons Thread

Season 3's coming out on DVD in a few days, and looks like a great set to get. Considering the rate at which they're releasing the seasons, I'll probably be in college before they're all released. Maybe even graduate!

Actually, I believe that to be one of the worst. I remember thinking to myself for the first time "This show isn't what it used to be."

As for a great old one, the episode that introduces Nelson is pure genius, as well as the episode where Skinner gets fired.
