Re: The Simpsons Thread

there have been numerous pink floyd references in the simpsons. Such as homer getting hit by peter framptons floating pig to which he replies "i bought that at pink floyd's yard sale!", and when ned flanders is high he see's the marching hammers. When homer is getting stoned off of toads he hears marge say "hello homer, is there anybody in there?" reminescent of comfortably numb.

But i guess i don't take things that seroiusly, and think about it that deeply. The newer episodes (5-11) make me laugh more, but the brand new ones are getting pretty (for lack of a better word) dumb.

Re: The Simpsons Thread

Oh, yeah, the flying pig...well, that was a good episode anyway; and there are a lot of PF references, yes...someone told me once about a PF poster on one of the episodes? And I think it was Homer's? But I dunno, I haven't seen it (not like I've seen ALL episodes), so maybe he was lying...
What I don't like so much is when they bring in guest stars. Only a few look like their live counterparts. Take Dustin Hoffman, for instance. If he hadn't said he was Dustin Hoffman, I would've never guessed by just looking at him (and mind you, I love Dustin Hoffman, so maybe I'm just being picky, but still)

Re: The Simpsons Thread

I watched the Simpons even before they had a show, and they were hilarious, coz they were so strange, mostly...granted, the drawings were even cruddier than the first seasons', but they had this late 80s thing that appealed to me.

Re: The Simpsons Thread

The Simpsons are my daily relief valve from the tribulations of 24/7. Homer makes me howl with laughter still.
The older versions, the newer versions, versions shmersions. I love The Simpsons.

BTW, the marching hammers episode was rerun just last night. I loved the psychedelic version of the outro theme tune. WooHOO!

Re: The Simpsons Thread

Sherry Bobbins is my personal favorite. But others would be when Homer had a heart attack, the monorail episode, and when Homer became the mascot for Capitol City.

no that would be the one where they go to florida during spring break and kid rock comes out and then they kill the allligator and they are fugitives from the law.

and the old simpsons shorts that were on the tracy ullman show are terrible.

You for get the one where Mr' Burns goes broke, and starts recycling. He tells the guy at the recycling booth to "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond!"
