No, they haven't settled their differences and Roger and David are not soon, or ever again, likely to appear on the same stage at the same time.

Syd is happily living out his life in the country not wanting to see his former band mates let alone revive his musical career.

It is just not gonna happen, sadly.

If only things were that simple. You've got more chance of seeing The Beatles on tour.

Beatles aye. I'd rather see them on dvd then live as you wouldn't be able to hear them over the obnoxious screems of the young female audience.

I know I should have been born 25 years earlier. Oh well Still got Yes, Journey, Rush, Styx and sevral other bands to look forward to seeing.

So if Rick and Nick are still interested in touring, why should Dave keep them back? he'd just be doing the same thing Roger was doing when they tried to revive the Floyd name in the 80s, remember? I hope Dave's fight to keep Floyd alive wasn't in vain. Rick can still sing, can't he? i remember after "The division bell" Rick said "I'd be very surprised if we don't do another album and tour within the next few years." and Nick said he "certainly isn't retiring." so Dave, don't be a Roger.

Oh I'm quite used to it, i'm just pointing out the fact that Dave is doing what Roger was doing (only not as...bitterly). He fought for the Floyd name but now he wants to stop it even though Rick & Nick have interests in carrying it further. Rick has contributed much to Pink Floyd; he has every right to carry on Pink Floyd as the apparently self-appointed leader Dave does.
I believe Rick and Nick could make a great floyd album. At least then there would be an excuse to use all the session musicians.

I don't think Rick and Nick could pull it off without Dave do you? (no sniggering at the back there). The fact that they have only produced two albums of new material in almost 20 years makes me highly suspicious of Dave's motives in the first place. As it is, after such a long break I don't think they'd have the motivation to get it back together anyway, even if Dave wanted to. Which he clearly doesn't.

Well at least maybe we can agree on one thing: If by some chance Rick&Nick did carry on and record another album, it would be a very...interesting project.
And maybe we can agree on this: if that album hit stores, we would both be very very tempted to go buy it!

I think I would manage to resist the temptation, anyway there's been nothing to stop either of them collaborating on a project together if they'd wanted to now is there.
Besides, Rick has supposedly been working on a solo album for the last few years but nothing has ever come of it.

I just thought i'd say it before anyone else did so we can have a good hardy laugh, but I still think Wright & Mason could make a good Floyd album. So here it is...

The 4-man Floyd (Gilmour/Mason/Waters/Wright) were the men who created "Echoes."

The 3-man Floyd: (Gilmour/Mason/Wright) were the men who created "Any Color You Like."

A 2-man Floyd (Mason/Wright): Would be the men who created "Up the Khyber."

That's true. And we all know what the genesis of that song was:

My goodness...smilies have certainly...advanced haven't they?
But about "Up the Khyber" i think in fairness we should remember the extenuating (can't spell it) circumstances. It was for a hippie flick, and by their own admission, PF would have done anything to score soundtracks. I mean compare it to this: the same 4 guys responsible for "Echoes" were also responsible for "quicksilver." The same guy who created "Money" also created "Several Species of Small Furry Animals."
So what I'm saying is that EVERY artist has at least one embarassing moment in their canon, and unfortunately for Rick&Nick that moment happened to be their ONLY known collaboration...even if it was a hurried, negligible 2-minute stunt for a movie.
