Cover band?

Has anyone been performing Floyd stuff right now live with their own band?
Me and my bandmates we perform mainly "set the controls", "echoes", "cymbaline", "saucerful" and among other stuff Floydrelated.

I was in a band (kind of still am, but we don't play anymore cuz of going off to school in different areas) where I was the bassist/lead singer and main songwriter (haha, I guess I take after my idol). We did some of my stuff, and some covers, but we only ever got around to doing ABITW pt 2, because the others figured that would be the song most people would know. It would've been cool for me to teach them Saucerful of Secrets or Echoes or Careful with That Axe, but they wouldn't have gone for it. And because I can't do the inhuman Rog scream in Careful.

We discussed, however, doing a medley of Wall disc 1 songs. We haven't rehearsed it yet but I thought this would be cool (in this order):

ABITW pt 1, Happiest Days of Our Lives, ABITW pt 2, Empty Spaces, What Shall We Do Now, ABITW pt 3, Goodbye Cruel World

First off all,I've no musical background. But if you're playing Floyd stuff like Saucerful and Cymbaline, get out on the road so I can see you live.Something other than monet and time and wish you were here.Get an early Floyd on the road.Good Luck

well i am only 16 so maybe oneday i will be in a band that will cover floyd. I don't have friends that would be dedicated enough to work hard and learn good songs, but i can play a lot of floyd stuff. My guitar teacher used to be in a band called "cool breeze band". They were strictly a cover band and they did a lot of floyd. I think occasionally they would perform dark side in its entirety. Theres a actually a funny story that goes along with this...My guitar teacher had just gotten a new stratocaster, and the fretboard was maple, so the dots to mark the frets were black. he didn't think anything of this until they started playing time. The lights on stage went out like they normally did at this point in their show, and he had no idea what frets he was on since the dots were black. He said that was the most embarrassing guitar solo of his life.

Check out http://www.pinkvoyd.com/

You can download some of their videos and/or music samples. They tour and have an elaborate light show playing all Pink Floyd stuff.

I play the guitar in a band but sadly, except for the other guitarist, the rest of the band are not big pink floyd fans and they're not too interested in make covers, but i'm trying to convince them to play Time or Wish You Were Here

My band thinks there's no pride in cover bands, so it's hard to get the others to do more covers than originals, which I think is a good thing to do with starting bands.
