I once got sucked into the jet intake of a Boeing 767.

...And when the surgeons put me back together they accidentally had all my nerve endings on the outside of my body.

Re: Most pain you've ever had?

Well one was only a little scraped, but there were little bits of gravel in it and stuff.

Re: Most pain you've ever had?

I broke a finger once. But it really didn't hurt as much as I would have thought.
I have multiple ear piercings, and none of them hurt.

The emotional stuff is definitely worse. The first boyfriend I had that I ever really cared about deeply broke up with me. For a good reason, but it still hurt.

I think the pain I have caused others has hurt worse, as I saw the effect it had on them.
Guilt sucks.

Nothing really bad, so far, though.

I am, however, really scared of having a child. I know that hurts like a motherf*cker.

Oh he's sitting at home. Bitter about a lot of things. Happy to be out of it all. Proud to have served.

He lost his arm and part of his leg to arty shelling from across the border. There was no organised "welcome home Lt." party or whatever. No one besides immediate family knows what happened to him. That's what is making him bitter and angry.

He is naturally fearful about life as an amputee.

One positive thing about the whole episode though is that myself and he have grown closer after almost not speaking to each other for four years.

But other than that, he's ok I guess. His old girlfriend is still seeing him, so it makes him a little happy. I'm already typing up his experiences (as related to me) for a little short story types on the THRF. I can post a link if you wish.

On topic: Franksantlers - You a mom or a dad?

Re: Most pain you've ever had?

Thanks for the update.

I'm so sorry to hear he's been so gravely wounded. Please pass on to him the best wishes of APFFN. I know he had a lot of friends here.

Yes, I'd certainly like a link to his stories. (you can PM me if you don't feel comfortable posting it on the forum)

I believe franksantlers is a 'mom'.
