| Re: Most pain you've ever had? Well, at least your brother has people who care about him, and that's a big part in surviving emotionally. |

| Re: Most pain you've ever had? While on vacation this last Christmas in Baja(Mexico), a few groups of family members went out on boats to visit an island that has nothing but sea-lions on it. Out of no where a wind storm picked up and all three boats made it in except one. This boat had my wifes father, his long time girlfriend, and his sister. After 13.5 hours of being in the icy water we found her Dad. Alive, but very much in shock. Sadly, we spent the rest of our "family vacation" searching for these two beautiful women(about 7 days). Taking boats out when the weather permited us, and walking and driving up and down the beach line for miles. Only to find them days later. Having lost their battle with mother nature. That was 8 months ago, and my wife and I still can't sleep. It's the last thing we think about before we fall asleep, and the first thing we think about when we wake up. Not including all the nightmares one would expect to have. So, in a nutshell, that is THE most pain I have ever had. May this horrible tragedy never, ever happen to any of you. Brian

| Re: Most pain you've ever had? My God, that's horrible, Brian. I'm so sorry. What a ghastly experience.

| Re: Most pain you've ever had? For me: Physical pain -- When I was about 11 or 12, I was climbing in a tree, slipped, fell and was impaled on a sharp broken-off branch. Emotional pain -- When my Dad died when I was 16.

| Re: Most pain you've ever had? I really haven't suffered anything really horrible compared to some things here, but physically, I went to a Who concert, and not having gotten enough sleep, and being around all the cigarette smoke and such (I live in a very strict non-smoking family) I got this pounding headache the next day, and I couldn't think or anything. It was so bad I was getting nauseous! Emotionally: I really haven't had much experience with loved ones dying, but I was pretty bummed when John Entwistle (the Who bassist) died. I may seem like a sissy with all of this, but I can't really think of anything else. |

| Re: Most pain you've ever had? I had a broken leg a few years ago. When it happened it didn't actually hurt very much...I walked / limped a kilometre to the medical unit. Three or four hours later and I knew all about it. Burnt my entire hand...burns REALLY hurt. Emotionally...well affairs of the heart are always good at wrecking one's head, and I've had one or two of those. I bummed out of air force pilot training with four weeks to go before graduation (after 13 months of training). I thought my life had ended...and almost did "end it all" a couple of times.

| Re: Most pain you've ever had? Well, my pain is miniscule compaired to what some of you have endured, but I had my nose broken a few years ago (I got shouldered in the face playing sport, I've been hit in the throat with a guy's elbow as he was charging me in basketball, nearly knocked me out. Em, I nearly acciidentally hung myself as a child. Thats about it. Emotionally, breaking up with my long term girlfriend. We had just gotten back togethr after a split over her having feelings for some other guy, she says she's never been so happy and BAM out of nowhere she goes off with him. It was worse than any physical pain ever. Possibly because it's hard to disconnect from pain that's inside your mind.
