Most pain you've ever had?

Ok, i'll admit. Those threads about the "dead thread" and stuff got me thinking. So I was wondering about the most pain, Physical and Emotional, that I've ever suffered.

Physical:

1. When riots tore up the neighbourhood, back when I was in 6th grade, I was shot (twice) and gassed with tear gas. Not before I saw 23 men, women and children hacked to bits with swords, knives, choppers and bashed with crowbars. Rather horrible experience...

One bullet shattered my left knee and the other through abdomen. My bad luck was that I didn't pass out. Somehow crawled someplace untill someone carried me somewhere... Surgery was performed without anaesthetic for fear of putting me into shock (or something), plus it seems that I had lost too much blood and they couldn't wait. Staff was already overwhelmed by dozens of serious injuries at that time.

2. I've had head on collisions riding my 250cc and broken skull twice (once minor but the second needed time to heal )...

3. I almost drowned, when I was 10 years old. Fortunately, brother saved my butt (as he's done quite so many times!)...

4. I fell two stories onto my back/neck (while trying to retrieve a stupid ball) and for like 10 minutes all I could see was violet and black. Thought I'd lost my sight or something

5. My hand got carved once (took 4 stitches) when I smashed a guy's head through a window in school. Surprisingly, I wasn't suspended (as it wasn't my fault. Self defense! )

6. Was hit by a motorcycle when crossing the road. My ankle needed 18 stitches. I could even see the bone. This was the second time I was operated on without anesthetic because (of all things) a shortage. The ****ing pincer that that doctor was using to clean the wound bit into the flesh every time he swabbed the wound. Thank God I passed out.

7. But NOTHING compared to that god awful ear ache I had when I was out with the Army Reserve (NCC). There was nothing that could be done for two days and a night... that was BAD. I had a root canal done on one tooth twice. But the ear ache takes the cake!

Emotional :

Losing my Grandparents. Losing my girlfriend [she was 18] to cancer. Losing my best friends Mom and brother. ALL within a year... I don't want to go through that ever again... for as long as I live.

So, you all out there, what's the most pain you've ever gone through. I think the Mom's out there take the cake. I believe that delivering a baby is probably the most painful thing any human being can go through...

There is no way I can come close to anything Simon posted...

My wife crushed and broke three fingers on my left hand during childbirth with our first child......

Fathers to be.....coach, love and assist your wife during delivery... but DO NOT hold their hand..

I've skinned my knees quite a bit.

Dental surgery on a few occasions.

Various insect stings.

Never broken a bone though...

...and I've been rejected, dumped a handful of times...not to mention lost grandparents on both sides.

I can't complain much.

Three root canals, 4 fillings, and a set of spacers and braces to be had for the next 3 years - all within the last six months or so.
