Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

Everyone else can go ahead and label their top 5 here.

But i know that as i get more albums and stuff my thoughts will change and i'll never have the same top 5 let alone trust that my decisions are a foundation for discussions or what not.

So i don't think i'll do a top 5 as it probably will change the next day!!

:smile:

Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

I agree with you, Charade. I gave it a lot of tought and it would already be hard to point the records I like less, let along name the top 5 records. As you said, it will probably change from one day to another, as I'm in a different mood. For instance, when I am in a "thinking about my life" mood, I'd get The Wall. When I am thinking of life and death, Dark Side. When I am thinking of society, Animals. And so the list goes on and on...

Cheers,
Paulo

Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

Don't need to be so negative about Dallagnol and Charade. Just put what your top 5 is now, instead of going on about how it's going to change because I'm sure that happens to all Floydians, including myself. It just goes to show how Pink Floyd can create several great albums of different variety to satisfy different moods of the listener.

Oh, and I believe that the correct spelling Charade is 'dudette'.

Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

Don't try to kill the effect of my influential rant I just had. I had been planning it for so long, just waiting for the chance to say it, then you go and kill it. I am very sad and depressed right now, and will listen to The Wall to cheer me up.

Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

I'll try to put my top 5 here now:

1. WISH YOU WERE HERE

2. DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

3. MEDDLE

4. ATOM HEART MOTHER

5. THE WALL

If I had Number 6 I would put Sacuerful of secrets.
If Pompeii was an Official album I would have put it in the top 5.

Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

Top 5, eh? Ok, I'll do my best:

1) Ummagumma (Live album), since Live at Pompeii is not considered an album (shame, shame, shame!);
2) The Wall;
3) The Piper at the Gates of Dawn;
4) Meddle;
5) Obscured by Clouds.

Of course, these can change tomorrow, blah blah blah... :smile:

Cheers,
Paulo

Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

The only way I can choose 5 albums is to decide right now which 5 I want to listen to
right now 'cause yeah-- tomorrow it will be different. Just a second and I will go pick them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,O.K. here they are.....

1.Meddle
2.The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
3.Animals
4.Saucerful
and I can't decide between Obscured and More so I am going to play them simultaneously on seperate stereos.

Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

Oh well, I guess I'll get over it. I never thought minds were created to be made up anyways.

Interesting to see most people having Meddle in their top 5 (except for Pat).

Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

I agree with all of you, my fave's consistently change. Right now WYWH wouldn't rank at all just because i've listened to it too much in the past few days. But the one album that would never make my top 5 Floyd is The Wall. The Wall is better as a movie, or an opera or something but the album is lacking. Though the new Live album seemed to make up for it. Anyway, can't wait for Rog and the guys to kiss and make up and release the album to end all albums (as if that'll ecer happen).

Re: Dark Side of the Moon?

What extactly do you mean by "Is there anybody out there"?
If you mean the Wall just PUT "The Wall"!
I've personaly never heard of a compilation, special release or bootleg called "Is there anybody out there",and if there were, I doubt they would fit the Conditions for the TOP 5,
after all , didn't we decide that Pompeii
doesn't count?
