Syd Barrett autographs

After searching for over 10 YEARS, I finally tracked down (AND WON!!!) an authentic Syd Barrett signature! Check it out:

http://www.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ory=29873&rd=1

Now, I'm extremely curious: Do any of you have (or know of) Syd Barrett autographs or signatures? I read he was not fond of signing autographs, and often declined or ignored people who asked for them.

I saw a Syd signature on a WALL album (eBay again) that MUST have been a fake, as it was signed "Syd" and not "Roger" and the WALL came out in late 1979, long after he had dropped the nickname.

What do you know of this phenomenon?

Your link isn't working. Congrats to your victory, anyway. What did Syd sign?

I tested the link and it worked...oh, well.

It is a "Marquee Artists" contract for the show they did at Leicester College on 2/10/67. My final bid was $1,125.

What's especially cool about it, is that the Floyd officially "went professional" on 2/1/67 and signed on with Blackhill for Management 3 weeks later (Blackhill subsequently signed all of the contracts for their appearances instead of the band members)

The contract itself was signed on 1/27/67 BEFORE their final decision to drop college and go pro, for a show just AFTER they made the leap and just PRIOR to getting real management.

A very brief window of time, and now it hangs proudly in the control room of my recording studio.

Ah, looks like a mighty fine trophy to show off to friends. Fishers show off their fish, Floyd fans show off their signatures.

Re: Syd Barrett autographs

Must tell you this, met Pink Floyd in May 1967 when they were doing a gig in Wales. I asked for their autograph and they took my autograph book (I was at school then) and read a poem written by my mum. Syd said that he was going to write one for me and he did. They were a bit scruffy but really nice and I kept that book for years, then when I got divorced it got lost, I wonder what that would be worth now?
