That's why I usually buy music on the internet. You have to pay shipping and all, but you can buy almost anything there and there's no jerks to deal with. Luckily, my library has some Syd Barrett there, so I can check it out and listen to the albums for free. Pretty nice. If I felt extremely naughty, I could copy them, but I resist the temptations. Some day I'll buy the Crazy Diamond box set.

You need to find a local independent record store, with an actual guy before the counter who like music.

Usually that guy not only has what you are looking for, but gives you suggestions on what to get next.

independent record stores are great because they have a lot of used cd's in good condition for a great price.

I'm buying most of my stuff in a second-hand shop with many rarities and even original LPs in mint condition. They've got lots of great stuff that's unavailable even on the net.

I say go find that special little store that orders through catalogue. They usually let you order through their catalogue as well; you just have to pay a little more, that's all.
I know two stores like that. One, whih I used to use to order stuff from the Brittish scene, and the other one, specialized in Oldies.
I haven't used their catalogue yet, coz they bring everything Pink Floyd on their own right. (they even ordered Sabriskie Point and Syd's Opel!)
