I love Ian Anderson he made me want to play flute and to play it just like him! As for fave album.......man, tough one. I would have to say Aqualung probably.

Re: Jethro Tull Fans Unite!

I have three favourite Tull albums and they all appear to be quite underrated and/or overlooked. They are in no particular order; Benefit, A Passion Play and Stormwatch. Great albums! Check them out.

Re: Jethro Tull Fans Unite!

I know that Ian Anderson sings and plays the flute, and that`s all I know, so I`m not a fan then? Yes, maybe not a big fan, but Aqualung, Minstrel In The Gallery, Songs From The Wood, A Passion Play are my favourites and I have a few other albums, including the first one, which I don`t like.

Re: Jethro Tull Fans Unite!

The first two albums are blues-rock which I'm not too fond of either. I also don't really like their folky side as heard on albums like Songs From The Wood and Heavy Horses. BTW you're a fan if you think you are, there are no rules about when you are a fan or not. And I once read that when you can sit through albums like A Passion Play and Minstrel in the Gallery you can consider yourself a hardcore Tull fan, and I see you like those.

Minstrel In The Gallery is absolutely perfect, can`t find anything weak in it.
And I enjoy the story of the hare who lost his spectacles, even if it hasn`t got any connection with the album, I just like how Ian Anderson speaks it.

Re: Jethro Tull Fans Unite!

I loooove Jethro Tull so much!!! especially their short acoustic songs. I have six of their albums, but my fav are Benefit, Thick as a Brick(which I dearly love) and of course the almighty Aqualung of which I really enjoy the second half of the album.

Re: Jethro Tull Fans Unite!

My favorites, at the moment (they change from time to time) are APP, Songs from the Wood (which is in the same vein as Stormwatch, Lars), and their best being TAAB. Possibly my favorite song of all time.

I'm going to be seeing them mid November too! Can hardly wait.

Re: Jethro Tull Fans Unite!

Time to revive this thread! Today I've gotten myself listening to all of my studio Tull albums ("This Was," "Stand Up," "Benefit," "Aqualung," "Thick As A Brick," "A Passion Play," "Minstrel In The Gallery," "Too Old to Rock 'n Roll, Too Young To Die," "Songs From The Wood," "Stormwatch," "Crest of A Knave," "Rock Island," and "Roots To Branches") in order...sort of to get myself excited for Wednesday. On "Benefit" now...very excited already!
