Re: Underrated/overlooked/unappreciated guitarist

When most people think of the greatest guitarists, most people mention Clapton, Hendrix, the usual. But I've never heard anyone commemorating Steve Howe.

Hey Steve, you owe me 20 bucks. I knew somebody would figure it out soon!

Re: Underrated/overlooked/unappreciated guitarist

I'd have to put Prince in this category. Most know him as a great songwriter, singer, performer, and talented musician (he plays ALL instruments) - but he is an outstanding guitarist. I just watched him on the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony. He was great! Killer guitar licks.

Re: Underrated/overlooked/unappreciated guitarist

Gotta disagree. He has some great funky tunes - if you're into that sort of thing. I personally appreciate his stuff. Very complex and a wide style.

BTW - I just saw Fulghum's other closed thread, so BoaB and I agree on Prince. He's f@$*in' awesome!

I still think Mick Ronson is quite underrated. And Robin Trower.

I gotta add Kerry Livgren (Kansas) to the list.
