Yes, he will be missed indeed.

I'm actually impressed you guys knew who he was, and even more impressed that you remember Pete's stage banter during Bob's Fender Rhodes solo in DYFLWD, Fulghum

Ian Moore! He's a virtual unknown unless you live in Texas (and even if you live here he's still not all that popular.) He's the most talented musician who never hit the mainstream that I've ever heard. He did have a tiny cameo in the movie "slingblade" he was one of the bandmembers. Sadly, his first 2 albums are out of print.

Junior Brown. Plays his unique style on a custom dual-neck Tele/steel combo guitar.
I'm not big on "Honky Tonk" genre, but Junior can dazzle.

Aww, ToF - everybody knows the live version of DYFLWD! I have every note of Mayo's keyboard solo and Frampton's guitar solos burned into my brain. That song was so huge during my junior high and high school days. I blew out a set of speakers in my 1978 Ford Pinto with that song.

A classic live performance in classic rock history!

Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day. He is a kickass guitarist, he just doesn't show it much in their later albums. If you listen to their first album, "1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours", you will hear some great guitar work.

To quote Wayne Campbell from the epic film Wayne's World 2: in the scene in which Casssandra (Tia Carrere ) gives Wayne (Mike Meyers) a copy of Frampton Comes Alive for his birthday...

Cassaandra: What do you have this album already?

Wayne: Schwayy.. didn't you know that everyone in the country was issued a copy of this on their 16th birthday?

TF is right , if you were in Jr Hi or Highschool in the mid 70's, to this day, you can quote every line, every note, every nuance of the entire Frampton Come's Alive album.....It's almost geneticaly encoded in this generation.

Well, I was born in the 80s and I still know it! It's one of my favourite albums. Matter of fact I have 10 or 11 Frampton albums. So, needless to say, I too have every note of that album etched in my brain.

*edit* PS. I'm a huge fan of Wayne's World, and Wayne's girlfriend is Cassandra.

I think Steve Hackett is a very good guitarist, but he never makes the lists.

I can probably count five black Americans who have that LP etched on their grey matter, and I and my schoolboy best friend Ivo are two of 'em. Of course, Ivo's much, much older brother - old enough to have been a real hippy - who turned us onto it must make it 3.

And I reckon If Wyclef's brother turned him onto Wish You Were Here, he must also have 'fessed up with the Frampton comes Alive as well, so that's 5.

Lovely stuff.
