Angry Pulse Dvd

Can anyone advise on the progess of the "Pulse" DVD?

I'm in Australia and my VHS version is wearing out!

Would have preferred the release of this concert than that of Pompeii.

I heard that David Gilmour finished the 5.1 mix of it.

By the way, I recall some comments that the Pulse concert was an anologue recording, yet my VHS tape has a label saying "audio direct from digital master"?

Any comments?

Well, I'm sure that the concert was recorded digitally, but it was transferred to the worn out VHS tape you currently own. Therefore, your source is analog, but the original, transferred-to-CD source is probably digital. Also, might not want to use that butt smiley a whole lot. Looks fun right now, but once you get addicted, things can get nasty. Many sad souls have passed through here, misusing the butt smiley, and have been exiled from APPFN land, never to return, unless they use a different username. That's when things get crazy!

ok thanks for the advice aboout the butt smiley lol!

By the way, do you know if the Pulse VHS edition was the complete concert? That tour never made it to Australia, so I'm not sure and I don't own the CD!

Well, the band played different things during the tour. In the earlier part of the tour, they didn't play the whole Dark Side, and focused more on Division Bell material. They also played some different classics like Hey You, and Astronomy Domine. Focusing on the concert recorded for Pulse, I'm pretty sure that it is the complete concert. You really can't cut something out of a Pink Floyd concert, because it's pretty easy to notice the edit. Now, the Cd is a different story. That is a collection of miscellaneous tracks from a bunch of concerts. That has Hey You, Astronomy Domine, What Do You Want From Me, and the entire Dark Side of the Moon, apart from stuff from the video. There were also some singles released that featured even more tracks, but those are hard to find, and I only got them through the ultimate Pink Floyd rarities collection, Tree Full of Secrets.

The best to add to the official Pulse is to get the RoIo PULSE3 (or P3), where you can find all the tracks being played on the 1994 tour which are not on PULSE.

Yes it is.

By the way it's been reported that David Gilmour has finished the work on the 5.1 surround mix and he passed the material to James Guthrie for the final editing (source Brain Damage). If it's true an autumn release seems to be likely.

Thanks guys for the info! Hopefully the final product will not be too far away.

I was fortunate enough to see them here in Feb. 1988 on the Delicate Sound Of Thunder tour, 7 rows from the front. To this day it is still the best concert I've been to.

Felt like being inside the mothership from Close Encounters lol!!

Whats the closest any of you chaps have been for a show?
