Strange guests

I was looking Who's Online and I'm curious about one thing. In fact IT SCARES ME. The GUESTS. I understand that somebody who's not registered here searches for information he/she wants to know, but who the hell can view threads like "Server Problems", "What Are You Eating Right Now", "What's Everyone Reading At The Moment" and "How Old Is Everyone". I mean: what kind of people are these guests? They're living inside the computer and are so bored that they're browsing threads with no relation to Pink Floyd, with insignificant information about some people they can barely know? I'm noticing it quite a few days, it gives me chills. Who can they be?

I did something to myself. Like entertainment, like music, like a daydream. There was nothing there and I saw something.

Re: Strange guests

I believe that people who are registered but also have opted to have their names not appear on 'Who's Online' show up as 'Guest.' I could be wrong.

Re: Strange guests

You both are probably right, but there are so many of them!

Re: Strange guests

Maybe if we post weird enough stuff, we'll scare them off!

So, who here likes cannabalism?

Re: Strange guests

Not all the guests are registered users. But we do have quite a few of those, too. Over 4000 in fact.

Re: Strange guests

I'll bet not even 3/4 of people who register really use this place.

Re: Strange guests

Well, whether registered members are browsing without signing in or not, or set to not appear online, there are also those who may be PF fans of whatever magnitude and just happy to browse anonymously. Unfortunately, or more probably fortunately, I don't think they are allowed, as once was the case, to post anonymously.

Also remember that some Internet users may have received an APFFN link through a search engine like Google on near-infinite possible search criteria. My old Air Force buddy, Rob, who's here visiting even now with his lovely family, found me here on a non-PF related search.
