how to get my g/f into floyd

Okay, I want to try to get my girlfriend into Pink Floyd, but I don't know how to go about it...Should I simply tell her to buy a cd, or should i burn her a copy of a cd, and if so what album? Or should I have pink floyd playing next time we are hanging out and kissing and what not lol...or should i watch the wall with her or something? (i think that would be a bad idea though) Or does anyone else have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance

Goofball aka John

Start with Dark Side of the Moon. Don't make her buy it, or even copy it and urge her to listen to it. Just play it when you guys hang out. If you drive, play it in the car whenever you drive together. Test her reaction to such background music, and take it from there. I would definately not show her The Wall until after she's heard it, and I wouldn't have her listen to The Wall until after she's heard a few other Floyd albums after the initial DSotM. Such other albums should of course be Meddle and Wish You Were Here. If she likes it, then ease her into the rest. If she doesn't like it, it's not the end of the world. There are certainly plenty of other things you can do together.

I can't drive yet . Not till January anyway, but yeah i was thinking background music was probably the way to go. But with my luck she wouldn't even be paying attention lol.

Or you can let her have her own taste in music.

I'm not going to force it on her lol. I just think she might like it. If she doesn't its no big deal, I just want to expose her to it the right way when i do, so there is more of a chance of her liking it.

HA, good luck! I've been trying to get my wife into Floyd for years. However she was "amused" by the DSOTH / Wizard of Oz sync. I have to admit, she has started to request DG if I must listen when shes around.

Better watch out, that Gilmour is a sly one.

Why not pretend she is a human being and suggest that she might like listening to Pink Floyd?

I say burn her a mix and give it to her off hand as a present. If she doesn't like it, then whatever, you still gave her an unexpected gift with a thought that certainly counts...you'll score brownie points either way. unfortunately, my girlfriend likes rap and country and stuff...she says she doesn't like songs with long intros or no lyrics...pretty much getting rid of a good deal of the catalogue.

My thought was that if you suggest that she would enjoy them, then she will say 'Do you have any of their albums?' whereupon you may lend her some of your own or play them when you are together, rather than carrying about a subliminal agenda.

Why don't you just say "Hey, borrow this, I think you might like it" then hand her your copy of DSOTM.... like what Gerald said. It doesn't need to be complicated.

well your suggestion was good too, but im not really sure a mix cd would be a great idea. I don't think a mix cd would have gotten me into floyd. I love the concepts of albums.
