To let everyone know, articles about David Gilmour and Syd Barrett are in the newest issue of Guitar World. The magazines headline is: Guitar Legends - 100 Greatest Guitarists. Obviously, they are both included in the list.

I gotta find that man, i'll look in some stores - are they long or good articles?

or are they small things with things we've all read a million times?

They're short little articles that you've probably read before. But it's got a huge page-size picture of Dave Gilmour. Still nice to have even if the info is kinda used up.

Here's something from the article I thought I'd let those of you who couldn't get it read.

David Gilmour

Signature Song: Comfortably Numb - The Wall
Signature Album: Dark Side of the Moon

Syd Barrett

Signature Song: Interstellar Overdrive - Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Signature Album: Piper at the Gates of Dawn

I don't know about the articles but according to Guitar World, the solo in Comfortably Numb is the #4 best solo ever.

I also read today in a paper about some poll which ranked Comfortably Numb as the BEST SOLO EVER, unfortunatly, the editors of the paper are f***ing idiots and didn't include who conducted the poll or anything like that, so I can't find any more information in regards to that subject.

Somebody had probably better let GeeDub #1 know about this!

Is this the poll that had Syd like #31?? This article caused a HUGE flame war on a guitar forum that I frequent. Nothing like a friendly "100 best" to get a bunch of guitar nuts ready to kill each other.

Guilmour has byfar one of the best ears for note selection out there....for him its quality over quantity....its not how fast you can run your lines but what you can say with your guitar...kind of how horn players are...

I don't know if you all heard about this yet, but the December 2001 issue of Guitar World has Pink Floyd on the cover. Inside there is a fairly large article that tells quite a bit about each Floyd album, and another section that describes the gear and recording techniques used in some of the more famous songs.

That one's great. It has tabs for WYWH too. I have one with Weezer (ugh) on the cover with Time inside.
