cannot access guitar tabs

I cannot access the guitar tabs, for some reason.

I click "guitar tabs" and get a page that says "there have been no posts in the last 30 days on this forum", so I scroll the "show threads from" window to "the beginning", click the button, and get "there have been no posts in the last 1000 days on this forum".........in other words, Zilch.

So then I typed "guitar tabs" into the "search this forum" window on that same page and actually got a listing of 6 tabs. But when I tried to access one, I got the "You do not have permission to access this page" message.

Would you please check this out? Thanks!!!

well until you get the problem fixed here are a few sites for you...

www.tabcrawler.com

www.taborama.com

i don't think i've ever gotten pink floyd tabs on them, so i don't know how they are. i usually just make copies of the books from my guitar teacher for pink floyd music...

Try www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/tab.html

They have most of the stuff.

www.tabrobot.com has a really cool tab search.
Also www.musicrobot.com has an awesome MIDI file search, also. If it ain't there, it ain't anywhere!

That's odd, as I seem to be able to access all guitar tabs here without any problems. Which URL are you using to access the tabs, stratman?

Yes, I seem to be the only one with the problem.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean about which URL, but let me walk you through it.

http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/

i.e., the home page.

From the home page, I click on "guitar tabs" under the "Tablature" heading in the column on the left. (Then, it goes as I described in the previous posts.)

here is the URL I get next:

http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/forumdis...ortfield=title

then, after plugging in "the beginning", I get:

http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/forumdis...=1000&x=10&y=8

Then, typing in "guitar tabs" in the 'search this forum' window, I get:

http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/search.p...by=&sortorder=

finally, trying to access, say, "Sheep", I get:

http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/showthre...stid=88#post88

Thanks for your help, Paulo!

Hmmmm... Extremely odd. I happen to see all guitar tabs on those pages you mentioned. The only thing I can think about is that you may have changed the default thread view. Please check under your Control Panel >> Edit Options >> Thread View Options and make sure the "Default Thread View" is set to "Use forum defaults".

Also, if this doesn't work, please try, again under Control Panel >> Edit Options >> Login, Cookies & Privacy to set "Browse board with cookies?" to "no". Then, if you're using Internet Explorer, please go to "Tools" >> "Internet Options" >> "Delete Cookies". Then, please restart your browser and set "Browse board with cookies?" back to "yes". You'll have to log in once more to APFFN as well as to any other sites you may be logged in by using cookies, so this may be an inconvenience to you.

Either way, please let me know if any of these solve this problem. I'm trying to figure out other possible reasons why this could be happening. Thanks for letting me know about this!

This is really weird. But if I Log out, I can access all the guitar tabs with no problem. When I'm logged in, I can't. (?!)

Anyway, problem solved. No use wasting time trying to figure why it's backwards. Thanks, Paulo. ( BTW, I did change the "Default Thread View" to 'use forum defaults'.)

Also, thanks to you others who furnished tab sites.

Ok, I just found out what it was. As a contributing member, you have another user level than regular registered users. Because of a little mistake, I had it configured so that contributing members could not view any threads. I just fixed it, so it should be working now. Anyway, please let me know if it is, because if it's not I'm still going to try to fix this some other way.

In time, I apologize for this problem and any inconveniences you may have had!

BTW, if any of you ever find a Floyd-related (meaning, Pink Floyd or any of our guys' solo careers) tab/chord that we don't have, please let me know so we can add it to our collection!
